Send SMS via SmartBro Modem Using VB.NET

Sending message is a way to communicate people using phones, or other applications that offered free text.  So, I decided to come up with my own application where you can customized to send messages. In my case, I am using SmartBro device in my application that serve as my Application Programming Interface (API) that directly communicate to my program. My application has only limited features, it offers a one way communication (e.i magtxt.com) where you be able to send messages, group message for announcement, and sending grades to the students. The point having a one way communication is that, I don’t want to have any conversation because this application serves for intentional purposes only.

The following features are:

·         Send group message for announcement.
Create your own category to send announcement or to specify number to send messages.
·         Send student's grade via importing from Excel.
This will automatically send to all students that already have a number on their instructor's subject.
·         Import contacts from Excel.
To minimize the work, you can put the phone number in excel and import it directly to the system.
·         Manage your account and sent items...
You have a privilege to use the system. However, administrator can automatically remove your account such an abuse of use.

Spam your enemies? Not now!

To send a message and student’s grade are the followings:

1. Provide username and password (Do not check administrator, you are only the user.)
2. Make sure that the SIM card have enough load (Better to have unlimited text to all network) to send messages and the number you entered is correct because the system cannot guarantee if the message was not sent successfully. It’s better to check first to avoid any errors.
3. Plug-in any broadband (Smart, Globe, or Sun) on your laptop/desktop. Wait a few seconds while the port is ready… (Note: do not run the broadband setup because once it happens the port will become not available).
4. In the dropdown menu, select ports if available otherwise close the application and run it again.
5. Once you are connected, you are ready to send messages, send grades, and manage contacts and your account.
6. Note: you cannot receive any incoming text or calls because these systems only allow one way sending SMS and message also include DO NOT REPLY for those who can receive.
7. Enjoy…
